After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Arabs carried on the tradition of thermal baths with their own ritual of “hammam”, from the Arabic “to warm”, a process of purification and wellbeing.
The Miwa Hammam offers just such a process, starting in the Tepidarium, a slightly damp atmosphere with thermal couches and coloured mosaics. It then proceeds through the Calidarium, a Turkish bath in which the body can be cleansed with a refreshing black soap made of vegetable paste.
The next step is the Frigidarium, where ice flakes stimulate vasoconstriction. This, in turn, is followed by the Orient Beauty System, where you can enjoy a beneficial body scrub performed with a typical Moroccan glove known as kassa. The kassa effectively removes dead cells, leaving the skin toned, supple and glowing.
A relaxing shower then refreshes the body while a final feel-good hydromassage plunges you into the scent of roses, eucalyptus and Japanese cedar, a veritable panacea for the senses.
